Testimonials from our

"My dog is 72 lbs of energy waiting
to happen. In spite of his size, he is very sensitive to even the mildest
forms of "correction". So, it was important to me to find a training
program that would achieve results quickly but would not break his
happy-go-lucky, trusting spirit. Thanks to Michele's tailored and balanced
approach to remote collar training, I have an incredibly happy, spirited
but controlled dog."

"I never really trained any
of my dogs, but when I got my male Rottweiler, Loki, I knew he needed to
be trained. Luckily I found Michele. I never knew I could have such a well
trained dog. I get comments from people saying they want their dogs
trained like him. I continue to train Loki with her, and now have a second
dog I'm training with Michele. This dog has come SO far in such a short
amount of time, I can't thank Michele enough on how well trained and happy
my dogs are."

"Michele is the absolute best
trainer in the DC area. We have been using her to train our 1-year old Lab
for everything from basic commands to off-leash training. More importantly
they have taught us the proper way of training our own dogs. After
learning from Michele I can now take my dog anywhere off-leash and feel
confident that she is within my control."

"Cleo loves Michele! And more
importantly we love the training that Cleo has received from Michele. She
started obedience training with Michele when she was only three months old
and has progressed through basic commands and then to e-collar training.
Cleo is a naturally rambunctious and mischievous Boston Terrier but her
training has cured Cleo of her annoying tendencies without detracting from
her playful personality. And on top of that Cleo has been great around our
new born baby daughter. Thanks Michele!"

"The clicker-training program
I went through with Michele was a very positive experience. They
have given me the confidence to successfully train my Corgi while
maintaining his enthusiasm. He remains attentive to my commands even
through distractions. We are both happier due to the training."

You know since this past summer we
have been extremely please with the outcome of your training. Kansas is
still the playful dog with a warm and friendly personality but now he has
discipline. We take him everywhere now and we know he will obey. As you
see from the photo Kansas has been a tourist in DC!

The story of "Kody"...
A
recommendation straight from the Dog's Mouth!
I was a puppy given to a girl as a present. The girl took me to dog
school, but all I learned was sit. I was a crazy boy puppy. I couldn’t sit
still. I didn’t listen either. The girl didn’t have enough time to take
care of me because I had bad behavior. The girl gave me to the animal
shelter. Then one day, a little girl played ball and Frisbee with me at
the shelter. The new little girl took me home. I liked my new little girl.
She played with me all the time. I still didn’t listen. I liked to go for
walks on the leash. I would pull my new little girl and my master when I
was on the leash all the time. They couldn’t control me because I weigh
110 pounds. When I saw other dogs, I pulled even harder!
One day there was a little girl dog I just had to attack! Well, I got in
big trouble for that. That little girl dog’s master mentioned to my master
something about a lawsuit and something about living on a farm. My master
loved me too much to put me on a farm. Instead she found Michele the dog
trainer. Every Thursday we would drive out to Fairfax and I would learn to
listen. When I listened I would get as many pieces of hot dogs to eat as I
wanted. Then master put an electric collar on me so I would learn to come
when called. I didn’t come at first. I got a funny feeling on my neck when
I didn’t listen. Master pushed a button for me to come. I was confused at
first, but it didn’t take long before I listened and learned to come when
called.
Then I learned to walk next to my master when she said, “with me”. I never
walked next to my master before. I stopped pulling. I even learned not to
chase after other dogs anymore. Now I can go on long walks with my master
and my master doesn’t worry about me attacking dogs or pulling anymore
when we walk.
It only took five hours to learn all my good dog behavior. Thanks to
Michele the dog trainer and the electric collar, my family and I enjoy
walking on long walks together.
Love,
Kody (the dog) |

I highly recommend Michele the dog
trainer. Our dog didn’t know basic commands when we started with Michele.
Through her expertise in basic dog training combined with her expertise of
the electric collar, our dog learned in five hours to come when called, to
walk with me by my side, and to ignore other dogs on our walks. Thank you,
Michele. You changed our life!!
Sincerely,

"I wanted to take the time to tell
you what a privilege it is to participate in your training programs. Your
exceptional skill and genuine care for each individual dog has changed my
outlook regarding canine obedience and opened the door to possibilities I
had never considered in the past.
Once the decision was made to bring our new 10 week old Bassett Hound
Penny into our home we decided for the first time that we would enroll in
a training program. Our main concerns were leash manners, house breaking,
and jumping. As classes progressed it was a revelation to me that I was
able to achieve the behavior I desired from Penny with nothing but a
clicker and treats.
After puppy training, I
reevaluated my goals for Penny and decided to focus on achieving a 100%
reliable recall, an off leash heel, and an extended group stay. With my
new goals in mind for Penny we began group training classes with the
Dogtra Electric Collar.
I was initially concerned that using electronic stimulation would cause
Penny to become frightened or nervous but her spirit has not dimmed at
all. In fact I believe it is her preferred method of training so far. She
is learning more quickly with the e-collar and her execution is more
reliable. You have worked so hard to help us reach our goals and your
advice and direction have proved invaluable. I also appreciate the fact
that you are willing to let Penny have fun and just be a dog, but that you
are also determined to see her succeed to the best of her ability.
Michele, your connection
with the animals was obvious from the start. It was amazing to watch Penny
respond to you with such enthusiasm, and your ability to teach people how
to build that same connection with their pets is a wonderful gift."

"I would be delighted to share
with you my experiences with Michele. I have been training off and on, as
my time permits, with Michelle for a little over a year and a half. I have
a little Pekingese and started him in a Basic training class with her when
he was about 6 months old. Following that, we took a fun tricks class
where Jing (that's his name) really learned about the clicker training
method. Then we took a Basic 2 obedience course which really helped Jing
generalize his skills outside of the training ring. This past summer and
fall, Jing met a trainer working with Michele and we took back-to-back
Advanced 1 and 2 with that team. While many of the dogs went through
remote collar training, Jing stuck with the clicker and they tailored his
training for that. I saw great results from all the dogs. Michele and her
training team are very straight forward and honest people who truly love
what they do...and they know what they are doing. I have seen a
transformation in Jing, who I now trust for off-leash walking when we go
out. They not only train dogs, but they train people. In class, they
explain what to do and why to do it, which leaves you in the position to
train your dog at home. They are a lot of fun and knowledgeable. They are
good with big dogs and little breeds. My dog also has back leg problems
and Michele's team was really great at making sure the training was easy
on Jing, even if it meant coming up with a different way of training a
skill. What has Jing from all this? He's learned basic skills, such as
sit, stay, and down, but he has also learned to come (no matter what--even
in the face of distractions), heel, act appropriately on leash around
other dogs, directional training, waiting, leave it (which is great for
telling a dog to leave anything you don't want him to have), attention
training, and many other little skills that makes Jing a free dog. I found
that the more Jing learned more free he became.
In short, there are no better person to train with, and 8 months of age is
a perfect time to get a dog into training."
